Strategy Dominates Tactics
FAMCO’s investment philosophy is based on the belief that strategy dominates tactics, and a top-down macroeconomic view is applied to the investment process across the firm. We believe that investment decisions should always be guided by a disciplined, risk-aware strategy that seeks to add value in all market environments. Our investment philosophy is multi-faceted, utilizing macroeconomic analyses, disciplined security selection, cost-controlled trading procedures, continuous risk analyses and an unwavering focus on achieving client-specific objectives.
FAMCO's two key investment teams:
- The Strategy Committee provides intellectual stress testing, confirms strategic direction, and provides portfolio risk tolerance to the Investment Committee.
- The Investment Committee makes recommendations to the Strategy Committee evaluating the current macroeconomic framework and market-cycle profile, proposing new investment themes and direction, as well as performing the quantitative and fundamental data analyzing the underlying portfolios characteristics and risks.
